New Community Farmers Market Opened in San Pedro Las Huertas
We are very fortunate in Antigua Guatemala because a lot of the food that we consume in the municipality it is grown in many of its villages. Of course, since colonial times, the village of San Pedro Las Huertas, located 3 km south of the city, has been known for the abundance of vegetables and fruits grown there.
So it seems obvious that a community farmers market would pop up as a response to the needs of the largest village in the municipality of Antigua Guatemala; especially so once you realize that there hasn’t been any public transportation since March 16, when the national government implemented many regulation to try to contained the contagion of the virus Sars-Cov-2 and the Covid-19 pandemic.
If you live near San Pedro Las Huertas, take advantage of the new Mercado Comunal, community farmer’s market, which opens Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 7am to 4pm.
