In the most southeast end of Antigua Guatemala you can find this 3- arch gate for the Hermitage of El Calvario.
El Calvario or Calvary (Golgotha) is the name of the mount on the outskirts of Jerusalem where it is believed that Jesus Christ was crucified. This church with its three arches provides a symbolic representation of the crucifixion; with each arch representing each cross.
I wonder how many people actually walked this far, one kilometer from Central Park, while staying near Parque Central.
How about you, have you walked near or around the Portal de La Ermita del Calvario?
