Believe it or not, I don’t see how it is possible that I have not share a picture of one of the most popular cakes or cookies found in the Guatemalan bakeries and cake shops. Well, it is never too late. Here’s the pastel, cake, or torta de milhojas, pie.

Looks very tasty and reasonably priced! Over here we refer to these types of products neither as a cake nor a pie, but rather as “pastries”. I guess the covering group name for these types of products in Spanish is “hojaldres”?……but whatever you call them, save a piece for me!
