Altar for Easter Sunday at Iglesia El Calvario

Since no processions were allowed on the streets due to the pandemic, churches and temples opted to have altars and shrines inside the temples with allegoric themes of the Semana Santa. For instance, for Easter Sunday or Domingo de Resurección as we know it in Spanish, the Parroquia El Calvario set up this simple and humble alta showing resuscitated Jesus, Magdalena, San Juan and Virgin Mary. I would like to point out that effigy of Jesus has been used in processions for 403 years. Also, the image of the consecrated Our Lady Virgin of Sorrows is among the most important images found in Guatemala.
