Antigua Churches: Santa Catarina Bobadilla

It’s incredible that even the small, tiny villages with little over 500 people have churches. Although the temples are smaller and simpler, they still are built with arches and bells. I wonder what this church is going to look like in a hundred years from now; what do you envision?

Let’s see, on my last visit to the land of eternal Spring, we were driving somewhere near Los Encuentros, and I saw a little church similar to this one…next to it was a much larger gothic-looking cathedral under construction, mst of the building was stll cinderblock/stone/rebar, but it was definitely going to be another stunning wonder of a church. So, 100 years from now, I wouldn’t be surprised if Santa Catarina Bobadilla was a larger version of San Francisco El Grande!

The lighting is very interesting in this photo. It almost looks like a picture of a picture. It has an old-timey feel.
