I read that the significance of the blooming of magnolias represents the end of Winter and beginning of Spring. Well, we’re about 10 days away from the commencement of the Winter season in the Northern Hemisphere where La Antigua Guatemala is located and Magnolias are just beginning to bloom, which means that we are having Spring-like weather now. I tell you this because you might not be looking forward to a dull, gray and harsh winter where you live, so come on down to the Land of the Eternal Spring.

Ephemerides Aside: On December 12 celebrations of La Virgen de Guadalupe, Our Lady of Guadalupe, you can find gringa moms, indigenous mamás, ladino madres and white mamás all taking their children dressed with indigenous clothes to visit the altar of La Virgen Morena.
