The Best Cup of Coffee in Antigua Guatemala

Interesting enough I had visited Hector’s and Tretto Caffé within the last week and I had uploaded yesterday’s and today’s photos to my online repository, so when I came across the top restaurants list according to TripAdvisor I knew I had to show you a sample of each place. I am sure I also have a photo of The Refuge Coffee bar, but these two photos I had just taken.

Tretto Caffé is own and run by a very young barista with a passion for the ultimate cup of coffee. If you want your coffee right away and Tretto Caffé is not for you. On the other hand, if you’re looking for the best cup of coffee in Antigua Guatemala to learn more about the gourmet coffees grown in Guatemala, then Tretto is your best choice. You can find Tretto Caffé on the second floor of El Jaulón building in the northeast corner. If you have already visited this amazing coffee shop, please, share with us your impressions.

… I think my Latte beats yours ;o) !! I’ve been served this adorable bear at Cafe Barrista on Parque Central. I’ve had many “decorated” Lattes over the years, but this one is just the most adorable ever – and I hesitated a long time before drinking it cause I didn’t want to destroy this piece of art !! Can’t wait for March to come around and to finally be back in Antigua again !!

( I wanted to post a comment to Dec. 31st photo, but it didn’t work, so I’m adding it here…) Thanks sooooo much for a really wonderful year of the most beautiful photos of one of my favorite cities in the world. Makes me feel like keeping in touch. I also wanted to share some of my fave pics taken in Antigua from last Spring. The girl with the big smile and green scarf sells artesanias in Parque Central. I met her two year ago and then last spring, she even remembered my name and which country I came from. This is why I love Antigua and Guatemala so much !! She must meet hundreds of people every day, but she remembered me and that’s the perfect example of how welcoming and special Guatemalans are !! I’m sure I’ll meet her again next March and I’ll be sure to bring her copies of the photos and a few gifts from Germany ! ( If you happen to see her one day in the Parque, please tell her hello from Jeannine in Germany :o) !!)

I visited Tretto Café when I was studying at CIRMA this past fall. I really enjoyed the coffee, but my host mother, who accompanied me, didn’t think it was the best she had ever tasted.

The Best, eh, Rudy ? A pretty bold statement, when there’s competition from Fernando’s and Micho’s and…many, many more. I shall have to put Tretto Cafe on a list of places to try (that is already too long) for my next visit.
