Photographing The Locals During a Photo Walk in Antigua Guatemala

One of the things I encourage during the photo walks I lead around Antigua Guatemala is to take lots of portraits of the locals, not just the Maya, but all the different kinds of Antigüeños; that’s right: mestizos, blacks, whites, ex-pats, all the shades of Guatemalanness. Of course, I give a crash-course before the photo walk where I share tips and tricks to approach people and composition rules to capture magnificent portraits and travel photos.
