In case you were wondering why the color of the houses repeat so often in La Antigua Guatemala, well, here’s the answer. There is an official color palette with ten possible options. There are two rojos, reds, rojo Concepción and rojo Santo Domingo; two light blues, Celeste Colonial and Celeste Santiago; four yellows: Amarillo Jocotenango, Amarillo Pensativo Amarillo Tridentino, and Amarillo La Merced; there is also Ocre and White.
You know what, I am thinking of a new color palette series where I actually capture the building that gave name to these colours. What do you think, do you like the idea?

Rudy, Please do, it would be a wonderful series!
Great idea Rudy!
Which rojo is the “brick red” Concepcion or Santo Domingo?
Hello KD, I would say Rojo Santo Domingo is more like dark brick red. Rojo Concepción is a lighter red.
