Here’s your illustrated Spanish word of the day — Sastre for tailor.
Another interesting aspect of real life in the villages of Antigua Guatemala is that you have access to hand-made custom-made to your specifications, from clothes from a tailor shop to furniture, houses, whatever. A lot of artisans also live and work in the aldeas of Antigua Guatemala.
When was the last time you had a custom-made suit done by a tailor for less than $100?

I like this photo series on village entrepreneurs. Yu gave me a great idea. When I travel to Antigua I am going to bring some fabric my father brought from England many years ago to have a sports jacket made. What a fantastic souvenir I will have from Antigua because the final product will combine something my father gave me with workmanship from an Antiguan artisan.
That’s great J Crich, let me know if you need the contact information for this tailor.
Hi,
