Shooting the Guatemalan Fiambre Preparation for Day of the Dead

Shooting the Fiambre Preparation for Day of the Dead by Rudy Giron

As I mentioned in another post, as part of the Day of the Dead photography workshop on November 1st, we shot two Mayan graveyards one Spanish cemetery; giant kites on display and flying, the fiambre preparation with a family who have been doing for over 45 years as shown above; a special All Saints Day procession in Antigua Guatemala plus sawdust carpet-making process themed around Day of the Dead; all kind of street vendors in Santiago Sacatepequez, the birth place of the giant kites. It was an intensive 10-hr photo exploration and workshop. The photographers who participated and their camera batteries were drained at the end of day but with satisfied souls and full of photographic memories. I am already taking reservations for the 2019 Day of the Dead photography workshop in Guatemala. Book your spot today as spaces are limited.
