Cruise Ship Passengers buses parked at Alameda El Calvario in Antigua Guatemala BY RUDY GIRON

Once again the location of Antigua Guatemala has proven to be strategic and beneficial for yet anothe type of tourism. Antigua Guatemala is only an hour to an hour and a half of Puerto Quetzal and Marina Pez Vela, the ports int the Pacific Ocean of Guatemala, thus becoming the premier destination for cruise ship passengers looking to experience the Spanish colonial architecture, the Mayan people, delicious food and the best coffee in the world, all in one single destination.

The buses you see here are parked at Alameda El Calvario, the south end of Antigua Guatemala, because this size bus is not allowed on the streets of the heart of the city; smaller mini buses are used instead to transfer the tourists to the different attractions.
