The Most Typical Guatemalan Morral (Satchel)

The Most Typical Guatemalan Morral (Satchel) by Rudy Girón

The satchel shown above has to be most typical and the most often found Guatemalan morral. You can find this kind of satchel in different colors and sizes, but the black and white is by far the most common. Also, in this picture taken only a few moments ago, I am sharing a typical vista of the kind activity you find around the Plaza Mayor, Main Plaza, in this case, at Portal de las Panaderas.

Below, there’s a 120-second video clip of the Municipal Band playing “Amargo Adiós” at their usual 4:00 pm Friday concerts. What can I say, life is good in Antigua Guatemala for now.

More than the band, I love the shots of the people sitting and listening in the zocalo. And the lollipop trees.

    • Yes OaklandDP, the idea was to show you a glimpse of the people enjoying a typical Friday’s afternoon while the band was playing the soundtrack; that’s why I didn’t stay with the band. I will try to include short video clips as often as possible.
