Guatemalans are wearing masks in all public spaces, indoors and outdoors, even as in trails in nature, such as seen here where one of the trails from Volcán de Agua meets the cobblestoned streets of Antigua Guatemala.
To be fair and honest though, I believe the high rate of compliance of mask wearing has more to do with avoiding the high fines than doing our part in reducing the infection rate of Sars-Cov-2.
Do you think more people would wear masks where you live if it was mandatory and enforced with big economic fines?

Levying fines would definitely increase compliance, but over here, there are too many ungovernable people who would protest and make enforcement virtually impossible; a bit like in the USA, as I understand it from my reading of events. The difficulty is that we have all become “experts” over these hard, drawn-out months, not realizing that none of us really have a handle on this at all. We are mainly working off fear and supposition.
