Try the Colorful Guatemalan Fiambre Delicacy


In a “normal year,” today we would be commemorating Día de Todos Santos, All Saints Day, and Día de los Fieles Difuntos, Day of the Dead through out Guatemala.

Needless to say, this year the cemeteries were closed from October 31st through November 2nd to minimize crowds and the contagion of Sars-Cov-2.

Not all things were cancelled for this 2020, fiambre, the once-a-year Guatemalan delicacy was widely available. Guatemala’s most baroque salad, a mixture of over 50 ingredients, prepared for only All Saints Day and Day of the Dead. If you find yourself in Guatemala around these dates, give it a try.
