Here’s your illustrated Guatemalan Spanish word of the day: Cerveza Artesanal for craft beer.

The cervecerías artesanales, craft breweries, movement went to full steam within the last five years or so. We have so many microbreweries in Guatemala and three stand out in Antigua Guatemala: Cerveceria 14, Antigua Brewing Company and Antigua Cerveza.

I will try to cover all three Antigua Guatemala craft breweries this month, starting with the influencer magnet Antigua Cerveza with field of sunflowers at their El Bosque location. So where is this El Bosque venue anyways? Well believe it or not, El Bosque is inside a coffee plantation located only three blocks from Iglesia La Merced, in fact, walk north on 6a avenida and turn left on the first alleyway, Callejón Los Nazarenos, and walk two blocks, the alley ends at the entrance of El Bosque. At this venue not only you find the Cerveza Antigua craft brewery, but also Chermol, a mobile coffee shop, a mobile taco shop and an ice kiosk. Usually in the late afternoons, early evening they light up bon fires pits so people can seat around them keeping a safe physical distance.

Thanks to some of the contributions readers like yourself made I celebrated the 15th anniversary of AntiguaDailyPhoto.com with a flight of craft beer from Antigua Cerveza found at their El Bosque location. I also had some Argentine empanadas from Chermol, the food partner of Antigua Cerveza at this venue.

In the background you can see the bright yellow and vibrant green of the sunflower plantation, which is needless to say a magnet for all those looking to feed their Instagram followers with the perfect image.
