    I guess everybody is familiar with colonial drain spouts, then.

    Here’s what B.Kennedy sent to me:

    The item pictured today is a spout from a roof drain. It carries the rain
    water away from the side of the house. Sometimes there is a catch basin at
    ground level for the water to land in, thus avoiding erosion.
