Antigua Guatemala Funeral
When I was eighteen I worked for a senile old man who had been a famous race driver in the 1940-70. Very often he was able to describe with crystal-clear detail events from those decades as it was yesterday morning. Seldom, he was able to tell you what he did that afternoon. However, in his in-and-out memory zapping, once in a while, he had his coherent moments and I remember in a crystal-clear way what he said to me in one of those moments, as it was yesterday morning: “When I was your age I used to go to weddings every month… Now at my age I go to funerals every month”

Since Sompopo requested a cemetery series a while ago, I think he would know the answer indeed must be the San Lazaro Cemetery…also since your archives only cover this one cemetery it must be SLC. I still remember the “whiteness” of the tombstones and mausoleums. Hope you’re enjoying nice weather in LAG.

I am only new to your blog and have not followed your “arches” series. However, I do like archways. The curve is very pleasing to the eye and reminds me of the human body.

I enjoyed your blog today. I wish I was there for the good bread. i like the street scenes best even if it is a funeral.
