Resting Bench to Meditate in Antigua

Resting Bench to Meditate in Antigua

After having spent a slow afternoon going over every little piece at the “Los Desaparecidos” Exhibit (The Disappeared) now showing at the Compañía de Jesús Building, I needed a place to seat down and meditate. I don’t think I am going to be at peace for a while. :-(

Disappeared/Desaparecidos is a verb turned into noun to indicate those who were kidnapped, tortured and assassinated during the recent military dictorships in Latin America.

This exhibit compiles the work of 25 Latin American artists who have created works of art originated from the subject of the forced disappearances throughout the last 30 years. (Freely translated from the poster below; please excuse the bad English translation)

You really have captured what life is like in Antigua with your daily photos. I have never been there, but this photo blog is making me want to travel there more and more. It seems like such a peaceful, welcoming, and naturally beautiful place.

Are you currently living in Antigua? Are you learning Spanish while there?

Looking forward to reading and seeing more of this blog in the future. Thanks!
