A cup of the best coffee in the world, sun, lots of it, and great company, either a friend or a book to spend the mornings or afternoons in Antigua Guatemala, don’t you agree?

“Best coffee in the world”, eh ? I don’t know, Rudy. Sometimes I make a pot of Cafe Antigueno, and I think, “This is the best coffee in the world.”…then the next day, I make a pot of Cafe Atiteco, and I think “Wait, THIS is the best coffee in the world.” I wonder if any other readers of LAGDP torture themselves like I do, trying to determine who has the best coffee…? 😀
Like you Rudy, I believe that el cafe antigueño is the best of the world but apparently Starbucks does not think so. Starbucks has been promotioning a Costarican coffee as the best of the world and they sell it for $7 a cup to back up their claim.
Bullocks! That’s just marketing tactics. Besides, Starbucks does not buy the best and most expensive coffee from Guatemala, which usually comes from Finca El Injerto in Huehuetenango. In fact, I don’t even think that Starbucks buys coffee from Antigua Guatemala. BTW, the Guatemalan chain Café Barista is still very popular among Guatemalans who prefer it over Starbucks. In Antigua Guatemala, of course, we still have coffee houses with better coffee than Barista or Starbucks. Enough said!
