#TBT — Guatemalan mother and son from the 1880s

Guatemalan mother and son from the 1880s by Emilio Herbruger Sr.

For this #TBT or Throw Back Thursday we are going back all the way to the 1880s with this portrait of a Guatemalan mother and son from the 1880s made by renown photographer Emilio Herbruger Sr. Notice how in all the antiques portraits people are leaning on a table, chair or podium. The reason is that back then you need much long exposure times to capture the images on the metal and glass plates.

Take a photographic tour through the antique portraits shared on AntiguaDailyPhoto.com. Enjoy!
