One thing I have noticed through the years of photographing the people of Guatemala is how close and tight are the families. Vendors always have their children near-by, even they are ambulant vendors. Have you noticed this yourself?
Some people believe that Maya people don’t like to be photographed. My experience has been quite the opposite, but I guess it’s all in the approach. Well, what would the aforementioned people think of Mayas making family portraits on public spaces? I would like to know your thoughts as well.

Most Guatemalan families are very tight with several generations often interacting with one another. It is not unusual to have at least three generations living under the same roof. That’s what I call family ties. 😉 Have you had to opportunity to notice this or to live with a Guatemalan family?
