Guatemalan Dessert: Camote en miel

Camotes en miel could be translated as sweet potatoes in syrup or in preserves. Camotes en miel is also another popular dessert for the Day of the Dead (Día de los difuntos) in Guatemala. Camotes en miel, unlike jocotes en miel, can be found in La Antigua Guatemala year round.

In East Texas, we call these candied sweet taters. They are a holiday staple. They generally aren’t served here as a dessert, but as part of the meal. I seldom post any more, but still loving LAGDP. Keep up the good work

There you go with the FOOD again! You really know how to torture a person (who can’t get to LAG this year)!! Just kidding – I really love your “food” days and it gives me more to look forward to on my next trip. Thanks, Rudy.
