The Corpus Christi or body of Christ is celebrated the first Thursday of June, first on the cathedrals and then at the other churches of each town or community. Basically, the Corpus Christi feast, a Christian feast day, or solemnity which honors the Body (corpus) of Christ (Christi). The typical dish eaten for Corpus Christi in Guatemala is Pepián with tayuyos tamales as shown in the picture above. Bon appetite!
