The rainy season started the first days of May and it looks like there will be some very copious rainy months. This means I have 5 more months of rains to make some of the best rainy season vistas you have ever seen here in eleven years. I wish I had a rain coat though.
This is it, we’re at the end of the rainy season. Soon the weather gods will give us the most beautiful light and temperate weather. It’s time to come and visit Antigua Guatemala. Soon, we will also start the most colourful festivities of the year, starting with All Saints Day and Day of the Dead.

Oh rainy season in Guatemala, six long months of rain is what’s necessary to keep everything green. We have heavy rains and light rains. Heavy downpours are better because they discharge a lot of water, but they don’t last very long. Chipi chipi light rains, on the other hand, can last for many days.
You can enjoy ice cream during any season in Antigua Guatemala, but actually it makes more sense to cool down during the rainy season as it can get really hot, up to 30ªC/85ºF in between rains.
