The dome is gone, but the pillars adorned with giant mermaids remain of the lateral aisle of the San Francisco El Grande Church in the southeast of Antigua Guatemala. Come back tomorrow to see a close-up view of one of the giant mermaids carved in each corner of this structure.

Now that the Holy Week is over, we found the purple banners and bags of colored sawdust used in the processional carpets being put away in storage until next year.
